Ava Lekander's Reflection

  1. How did you like the lynda videos?
    • I enjoyed the Lynda video, I thought it was very informative, although at certain points, for example the 'debugging' example I was very confused as to what was being done with the red dot and the 'k.' This part was not explained very well and I would not know when to 'debug' in this way or why I would even want to at this point in my MatLab journey.
  2. Do you have any worries about using MATLAB going forward?
    • I kind of wish I had taken notes to refer back to while watching the Lynda tutorial because I feel like I could easily forget all the small detailed steps used for generating certain information.

Sahil's Reflection

1. How did you like the lynda videos?

  • I thought that they were very easy to follow and the transcript beneath the videos helped with clarification.

2. Do you have any worries about using MATLAB going forward?

  • No, at this point I do not have any worries about using MATLAB.

Desiree's Reflection

  1. How did you like the lynda videos?
    • I liked the Lynda videos. They were relatively easy to follow and understand. I think it was easier for me to learn how to use MATLAB, because these videos acknowledged all the various learning styles (auditory, visual, and kinestethic) that I prefer.
  2. Do you have any worries about using MATLAB going forward?
    • I am a bit worried about using MATLAB going forward, because it is very picky and needs everything formatted a specific way in order to successfully run the various functions. I think MATLAB's intricacy could be a potential disaster if I am not careful enough when using the program.

Angela's Reflection

  1. I really enjoyed the Lynda videos. They were easy to follow and the transcript below helped. I also like that I could pause and rewind when I needed him to slow down.
  2. I currently don't have any worries about using MATLAB, however I know that there is still a lot more that I need to learn.

Austin Dias Reflection

  1. I thought the Lynda videos were very helpful in helping me understand MATLAB. I appreciated that he explained each step and also why it was necessary.
  2. It was easy to follow along step by step with what someone else is doing, but I am concerned about understanding all of the small nuances of MATLAB and how these may come into play when trying to create my own files. My biggest worry is possessing a well enough understanding of MATLAB to be able to use it as a tool to help in modeling biological phenomena.

Leanne's Reflection

  1. I personally do not like learning through videos. I find it tedious as I have to rewind and pause the video excessively. I would have preferred a written set of instructions with diagrams/visuals. That being said, I did find the videos to be very well put together.
  2. It seems easy enough to use and a good tool to make plots (better than Excel) with, however I am not sure I would be able to program a script without step-by-step instructions.

Alison's Reflection

  1. How did you like the lynda videos?
    • I thought the lynda videos were helpful because it was easy to follow along with what was happening on the screen and his explanations were clear. He also moved slowly, which was nice and made it easy to keep up. I would definitely watch lynda videos for help in the future.
  2. Do you have any worries about using MATLAB going forward?
    • I do not have any worries because I have been using MATLAB for a while now in different classes and feel like I have a good basic understanding.

Edward's Reflection

  1. How did you like the lynda videos?
    • They were very informative and easy to follow. I have no previous coding experience, so this was a great for beginners
  2. Do you have any worries about using MATLAB going forward?
    • Yes, because I do not really know how to be creative with the code to create models and equations. Also, just forgetting or mistyping something makes the code not run properly, so I am afraid that I may mess up while writing it.

Fatima's Reflection

  • How did you like the lynda videos?

I like it very much, it's straight to the point and easy to follow

  • Do you have any worries about using MATLAB going forward?

no

Brianna's Reflection

  1. I liked the videos. They were very easy to follow for someone that has no idea what MATLAB was or how to use it. I thought it was very well informative and beneficial.
  2. Although the steps were easy to follow, I do see myself having issues using MATLAB moving forward because I am not all that tech savvy and there were so many steps involved. I know I will forget a lot of stuff and have to keep rewatching all the videos all over again.
