Week 4 Feedback

This is feedback on your Week 4 assignment.

  • Thank you for submitting your assignment on time.
  • You completed all of the tasks for this assignment, except for the following:
    • Include a conclusion section.
    • Don't forget to add your wiki signature to your Academic Honesty statement.

Week 3 Feedback

This is feedback on your Week 3 assignment.

  • Thank you for submitting your assignment on time.
  • You constructed a good outline, but you did not explicitly answer all the questions posed in the assignment, especially
    • stating the main result
    • stating the main result of the figures/table as well as how it was constructed
    • giving a critical evaluation of the paper
  • Also, every assignment needs a scientific conclusion.
  • Remember to sign your Academic Honesty statement with your wiki signature.

Week 1 Feedback

This is feedback on your Week 1 assignment.

  • Thank you for submitting your assignment on time.
  • You wrote something in the summary field for 27 out of 28 saves, 96%. Keep up the excellent work!
  • You completed all of the tasks, but there are still a couple of improvements to make:
    • When you are making a hyperlink to an external website, please include a visible label for the link.
      • For example instead of the syntax, https://www.usacricket.org/team-usa/sahil-patel/ use [https://www.usacricket.org/team-usa/sahil-patel/ USA Cricket]
    • Your list of assignments is incomplete. For this course, I'm asking that you make the complete list at the beginning of the semester, instead of adding to it as you go. Please go back and fill out the list on your template for this course.
    • You are also missing some answers to questions on the shared journal page.
  • You will be able to earn back the points lost in the assignment by submitting corrections by the Week 3 assignment deadline, 12:01am on Thursday, February 6.
  • I answered your question on my User talk page. Kam D. Dahlquist (talk) 09:55, 31 January 2020 (PST)

Week 1 Feedback

I am posting the feedback on your Week 1 assignment here.

  • Thank you for submitting your assignment on time.
  • All of the requested items were found on your user page except for what is noted below. You have the opportunity to go back and fix these items to earn back points that you lost on the assignment. The changes will be due at midnight February 7, when the Week 3 assignment is due.
    • The link to email you is not working. This may be due to OWW changing your user name to your real name. See this page. You probably just need to fix the link.
    • Please send an e-mail to both Dr. Dahlquist and Dr. Fitzpatrick letting us know whether you have any worries or concerns or if there is anything else you want us to know. Please send us this e-mail even if your answer is "no".
    • Please ask a question of Dr. Dahlquist and Dr. Fitzpatrick on our respective user talk pages.
    • Please provide a link to an external website.
    • When using headers, don't use the single "=" sign. That level is reserved for the title of the page. Start with "==" and then nest "===" and "====" beneath each other; don't skip levels. I.e., don't go directly from "==" to "====", bypassing "===".
    • Please create a numbered list, or change one of your bulleted lists to a numbered list. A numbered list uses "#" instead of "*".
    • Please comment out something by using the syntax <!--comment goes here-->; I will see it by clicking the edit tab and looking at your code.
    • Please upload and link to a file. For example, you could use your resume.
    • You created a template, but did not invoke it on the page. The way to invoke your template is to use curly braces to surround the template name, such as {{template name}}.
    • The category was also missing from your User page because you did not invoke the template.
    • As we go forward in the semester, you will be adding links to the weekly assignment page, your individual journal pages, and the class shared pages to your template, and then you will invoke this template on your individual journal page. You can even do all of this in advance. Currently, you need to fix the link to the assignment on your template and add a link to your user page. Note that if you want text to appear on separate lines, you actually need to skip a line in the code.
    • Your Acknowledgments section is missing your wiki signature.
    • You are missing the References section. You at least need to cite the Week 1 Assignment page (in APA format).
    • You wrote something in the summary field only 33% of the time. We are aiming towards writing something in that field all the time (100%).
    • Your contribution to the class journal was incomplete; you were missing the answers to the questions posed for "after" reading the assigned texts.
  • I hope you are recovered from your illness!

Week 2 Feedback

  • Most of your assignment was submitted on time, but some of the requested links were added after the deadline.
  • You will be receiving a hard copy of your individual journal with corrections.
  • You are not following the naming convention for your individual journal page. You called it "BIOL388/S19:Week_2_Assignment" instead of "Sahil Patel Week 2". Please use the "move" tab at the top of your page to change this page name and the page names of the Week 3 and Week4/5 assignments.
  • You need to add links to the Assignment instruction pages to your template and then invoke your template on your individual journal page.
  • You wrote something in the summary field for 11/20 edits (55%), remember we are aiming for doing this >90% of the time.
  • Don't forget to sign your Acknowledgments statement with your wiki signature (4 tildes in a row).
