### Procedure

1. Up-load data set onto desktop and open into excel worksheet
2. Clean up data set. Get rid of unnecessary information and data by deleting cells
3. Create four new columns and compute the average for the three samples for each of the four conditions(12C,30C,12N,30N) one in each column. Input = average(array1) and copy and paste down the column.
4. Create two new columns and compute the ratio between the average of low temperature versus high temperature for both nitrogen and carbon limited conditions. Input = average C or N at 12 degrees C/ average C or N at 30 degrees C. Copy and past down the column.
5. Create two more columns and compute the log2 ratios. Input =log(ratio N or C, 2). Copy and paste down the column
6. Create two more columns to find the Ttest for each metabolic condition. Input =ttest(array1, array2, 2,3) Copy and paste down the column.
7. Perform a sanity check:
1. Use excel data to find numbers with significant difference according to ttest
2. For C-limiting data: 2232 of 9336 were significant
3. For N-limiting data: 2333 of 9336 were significant
4. For Both: 942 of 9336 significant
