About me
Kevin Paiz-Ramirez is a Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) teacher from Coronado Middle school. Kevin is interested in STEAM classrooms as well as incorporating the NGSS that centers on differentiation and inclusiveness for all students. He is a strong advocate for social justice and the belief that every student has the capability to rise to their potential. Kevin has had 100% implementation of the NGSS into his curriculum this includes collaborating to write a digital textbook aligned with the new standards.Created a 13 week lecture circuit "Lunch With A Scientist" that reached out to the community to bring in 13 different scientists including Pathology, Botany, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Oceanography, Zoology, and Astrophysics. He has been a strong proponent of learning management systems including but not limited to HAIKU, Moodle, Blackboard. Prior to working at CMS Kevin worked for Manhattan Village Academy as well as InTech Academy in New York City where he received his Masters Degree in Math, Science, and Technology from Columbia University and a Bachelors degree in Biology from Loyola Marymount University.
