Chan Lab
Welcome to Simon Chan's Lab, in the Department of Plant Biology at UC Davis.
We study chromosome inheritance during cell division using the small flowering plant Arabidopsis thaliana.

ResearchAll organisms must pass an intact genome onto their progeny, so we are interested how chromosomes are faithfully inherited when cells divide. The centromere is the position on a chromosome where it attaches to the mitotic spindle, facilitating correct segregation. We study chromosome properties that specify centromere location and function. We have two major areas of study |
