15 μm droplets were re-injected at 30 μL/h into the device and spaced-out using extra oil (2x300 μL/h) and sorted at >2 kHz. Illumination was provided by a laser beam focused on the channel (positioned between the 2 electrodes) with fluorescence detected using a photomultiplier that triggered sorting of positive droplets by application of a square pulse of 0.6-0.8 kV to the electrodes.
