| Program Mission
The Portland Biophysics Society was instituted in 2009 to further the educational and research missions that biophysicists in the Portland area share. Members study the workings of bio-molecules in life processes, using physical methods to understand their structure, interactions and dynamics and the effects of malfunctions in disease. Through jointly taught inter-institutional courses, seminars and retreats, we plan to combine our expertise for the advancement of graduate and undergraduate education and to facilitate collaborative research endeavors.
