This is a very clear and readable lab entry. My comments are similar to those for Eyerusalem, so I'm just going to copy and paste them here. You should include the concentration of retinoic acid and the stages of the embryos at the start of the experiment. You made a lot of observations, but they are all qualitative. For these, it is important to note how many embryos were observed. For example, if you looked at pigmentation in all of the surviving embryos, you should say that, or if you looked at a sample of 3...you could also say something like "all three experimental embryos had darker pigmentation then the 3 control embryos." Then there are actual measurements...if you preserved embryos from day 7, you could still measure the length and eye diameter. Whenever you have quantitative data like length for multiple fish, you can calculate a mean ± standard deviation and do a statistical test. One thing to address in your discussion is why the experimental embryos might appear yellow...LS

3/6/2015 Great! You didn't mention whether your identified species was tetracycline-resistant or not, though. LS

Vert lab - Very good. You could add protists into your food web, and make a bit more detailed.

Invert lab - Good job. Nice table of the worm movement, too! LS

2/15/2015 This was well-organized, but you needed to make an attempt to identify the genus of your plants. Was the sample you took from the brussel sprout patch and the lettuce patch actually brussel sprouts and lettuce, and if so what are the genera? Also you didn't address the fungi questions from you lab manual. LS

2/6/2015 Excellent! Your group will have a leg up on your lab report. LS

1/30/2015 Very nice! I like your drawings. LS

1/26/2015 Good job. I liked your conclusions for procedure 2. Try to choose either present tense or past tense for the methods section. You can either write it as directions "Collect...add..." or write it as what you did "We collected...we added...", but try to not switch between the two. Also don't forget to add/link to your map! LS
