Ocean Optics

Purpose

To use ocean optics to make conclusions about the rate of nanoparticle formation in pH5.

Procedure

  1. Sample was made Myoglobin: 0.25mM Au, 12.5uM Myoglobin, 0.01mM HCl 3mL total
    1. Au 3.73mM
      1. (0.25mM)(3.0mL)=(XmL)(3.73mM)
      2. XmL= .201mL= 201uL Au
    2. Myoglobin 160uM
      1. (12.5uM)(3.0mL)=(XmL)(160uM)
      2. X=0.234mL= 234uL Myoglobin
    3. HCl 0.1mM
      1. (3.0mL)(0.01mM)=(1.0mM)(XmL)
      2. XmL=0.03mL= 30uL HCl
    4. Water
      1. Volume of water= 3000uL- 201uL-234uL-30uL= 2535uL
    5. Scans were taken at 80oC every 2 minutes for 3 hours
  2. Scans

Notes

pH 5 was done on 09/13/2016 with the wrong concentration of myoglobin, so the procedure was redone here for pH5.
