- Garner Lab - Dr. Harold Garner, Ph.D - UT Southwestern Medical Center
- Built a database of genes in pathogens and their homologs in the other species.

- Made constructs with mutations of a particular sequence that is known to affect splicing of exon 4 in the gene CD45 of t-cells
- Conducted in vitro splicing experiments with these mutants to observe effects.
