Observations The contents of the darkened falcon tubes were examined and then placed back in the freezer until Tuesday: JCS 1 (room temp synthesis) was a light, yellow liquid with a small amount of black precipitate at the bottom of the falcon tube. JCS 2 (40°C synthesis) was a dark brown liquid, with no visible precipitate at the bottom of the falcon tube.
