Objective

Learn how to maintain an OpenWetWare Notebook.

Description

  1. Solubility tests were run on RuATP.
  2. After determining the solvents that dissolved the RuATP, 6 crystal growth systems were set up, using 10mg of RuATP per system. The RuATP was placed in a clean, small vial and filled with just enough solvent to dissolve all the RuATP. The small vial, uncovered, was placed in a clean, larger vial and filled with just enough precipitant so that the small vial did not float in the larger vial. The system was placed in an area where it would not be disturbed and covered securely with the large vial's lid.
         Solvent Precipitant
         H2O Acetone
         H2O Chloroform
         Methanol Acetone
         Methanol Chloroform
         Ethanol Acetone
         Ethanol Chloroform
