The presence of purple strings particles in the test tube means that AuNPs formed.

Preparation of 250µM amino acid solutions

Amino Acids used: Aromatic: Phenylalanine Amine: Arginine Aliphatic: Isoleucine

Volume of stock amino acid solutions to be made: 50mL Amount of Phenylalanine (165.19 g/mol) needed

                  165.19 g/mol * (250 µM) (0.05L) = 0.00206 g

Amount of Arginine (174.2 g/mol ) needed : 0.002177 g

Amount of Isoleucine (131.17 g/mol) needed : 0.0016 g

Making AuNP using amino acid solutions

For each amino acids we are using 3 Au: Amino acids ratio. The three ratios are 20:1, 80:1 and 160:1

Once the solutions are made, the pH of the solutions is measured. The table below shows the pH of each of the solutions.
