Task list

- Initial analysis of the beads made
Make red cabbage dye
- Cut the red cabbage into small pieces (about 0.1 to 1 inch squared)
- Put the cabbage in hot DI water and let them sit for 2 hours
- Occasionally stir the beads
Initial analysis of beads
- After freeze drying, the beads turned greenish gray and clumped together into chunks; grinding or shaking the falcon tubes did not break the chunks down well
- The higher the percentage of clay, the greener the beads
- Masses of the beads are recorded here
- The beads were put in water, in hope that they would reswell. We put as much water as needed for all the chunks to be submerged.
- Photos of the beads being submerged in water are here
