Continue with the previous procedure for the 20% and 30% beads Start using a pump to suck out water from column because the beads are too fine for water to flow through quickly enough. Clean the right end of the pumping tube by letting it pump out clean water (This tube usually has soap inside) Connect the pumping tube directly to the column (Figure 1) Fill the tube with 5 ml of MG 50 ppm Place the left end of the pumping tube at the rim of a vial for collection Change the speed to 15 rpm and press start Press stop when the solution in the column is totally pumped out (it usually takes minutes) Label the vial
