The Heart Foundation explains that in 2011, "heart disease was the number 1 cause of death in the United States, claiming nearly 787,000 lives that year." Focusing just on heart attacks, "720,000 people in the US suffer from heart attacks every year." As of 2016 data from the American Heart Association, 116,000 of the 750,000 people in the US that had heart attacks died. It is evident that heart attacks are still a major issue in physical health for many people despite attempts to reduce the fatalities from these heart attacks. The purpose of this product is for the notification to emergency services for heart attacks before they occur so that the mortality rate for people that are prone to suffer heart attacks decreases. Competitors Advantages -Constant indication of patient's heartbeat -wrist alarm when heartbeat is irregular -easy to dial emergency services -a GPS receiver -has a touch screen -voice activated -small and portable -continuous monitoring Disadvantages -some need to be implanted -need to replace battery occasionally Customer Validation Patient The patient would be able to avoid a surgical procedure with our product, and pick a custom design that would suit there fashion interests. Payer The payer would not have to worry about surgical complications that could lead to more than one operation instead, they would just have to be worried about the sustainability of the bracelet that could easily be replaced or fixed. Physician The physician can keep a close eye on their patients without requiring multiple appointments. Also with this equipment they can decrease the number of their patients who have heart attacks, and improve their statistical rating. Provider The provider will be able to make multiple bracelets and vary the designs to fit the customers needs with minimal complications, as the structure of the equipment should be fairly easy to assemble. Purchaser The purchasers will like that this product has more of an appeal to the patients as it avoids surgical procedures and will be able to help the millions of people who suffer from heart problems.
