June 7th to June 11th Amanda: This week we focused on finding the specific parts we need for our metal collection system. This included finding metal binding proteins, outer membrane proteins, promoters, and parts in the registry we could use. I focused mainly on reading about possible membrane proteins we could use, and how MP/MT fusions have been done in the past. We also started designing primers. Tom: This week I mainly focused on refining our project's goal and coming up with a detailed layout for our project. Also researched into chemotaxis and promoters for an additional gold efflux pump.
