1~2 postdoctoral fellow positions in bioinformatics and computational biology is immediately available at Dr. Ximiao He’s lab at School of Basic Medicine, Tongji Medical College (TJMC), Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan in China.

The postdoc will conduct research in genomics and epigenomics to study the role of DNA methylation and histone modification in regulating gene expression. Comprehensive genomic and epigenomic data generated from human and animal tissues will be analyzed to study how alternative splicing and alternative promoter usage regulate gene expression through development, and also how DNA methylation and histone modification shapes chromatin dynamics differently under normal and disease conditions, as well as the effects of DNA methylation on evolution of Transcription Factors Binding Sites (TFBSs) and new genes. The postdoc is also expected to work on genomics, transcriptomics, and epigenomics data obtained from various cell lines.

Strong candidate for this position can be a PhD with either wet-bench biology or bioinformatics background:

General Requirements:
1. A recently completed PhD degree in bioinformatics/computational biology or other related areas;
2. A track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
3. Excellent oral and written skills.
4. Willing to work in a collaborative environment.

5-1. Wet bench: A postdoc with molecular, cellular, and animal research experiences. We expect this candidate to have research background with stem cell differentiation, cancer, neural development and sequencing technologies. Bioinformatics knowledge or experience can be a plus.
5-2. Bioinformatics: A postdoc with bioinformatics or computational background. We expect the candidate to develop computational methods/algorithms to interpret next-generation sequencing data. Proficiency in programming (e.g., Perl, Python and R)

Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, research plan, and at least 2 referees (including name and contact information) to Dr. Ximiao He (XimiaoHe AT hust.edu.cn).
