WUbites
As part of the Science Communication in Physics (SCiP) class, Willamette Physics Majors translated research articles from a variety of different topics in physics for a non-scientific audience. This project is inspired by astrobites, an online journal whose goal is to present astrophysical papers in a brief format that is accessible to undergraduate students in the physical sciences. These WUbites articles are meant to summarize and explain physics research in a concise manner while putting the work into a bigger picture context.
In SCiP, students are also crafting a proposal for their senior thesis work, and so these articles are often closely tied to their future research. For this reason, these articles are also an opportunity to learn about the active research topics going on in the WU Physics Department. You will even find summaries of research articles published by Willamette Physics Faculty and Students.
