Hey, this reminded me of a talk by one of Keith's friends at colloquium last semester. Paul Wiseman from McGill was looking at movement of things insides cells. He came up with a few techniques for analyzing these crowded images for motion. Image Correlation Spectroscopy, Image Cross-Correlation Spectroscopy, and something newer I think. His pubs are here: http://wiseman-group.mcgill.ca/publications.php I think with NI Vision, trying those methods out would be pretty quick, now that you've got some programming experience. Definitely worth looking at.
