Usually, Ganoderma lucidum is cultured on plates, in liquid media, and in aerobic solid-state fermentation.

The preferred laboratory media for culturing G. lucidum 10597-SS1 with plate-based and liquid-based methods are potato dextrose yeast extract (PDY) or our custom media, mushroom potato dextrose yeast extract (MPDY). The recipes for these media can be found at the link below.

The preferred substrate for culturing 10597-SS1 via aerobic solid-state fermentation is a woody substrate that has been supplemented with a sugar-rich agricultural residue, such as wheat grain, and various vitamins and minerals.
