I am currently a PhD student at the University of Manchester [1], working under Dr. Lubomira Stateva and Prof. Douglas Kell. I am attempting to use a Systems Biology approach to investigate the cAMP pathway in the bakers yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. So far a "top-down" approach has involved integrating transcriptomic and metabolomic data to observe the effects of constitutive activation of the cAMP. A "bottom-up" approach uses a mathematical model of the cAMP pathway in an attempt to understand the most important components. In future I hope to use purified proteins to obtain real-world parameters for the model.

Before arriving at Manchester I obtained a MRes in Bioinformatics at the University of York[2]. For my summer project I created a protein allergen prediction facility [3]. Prior to my MRes, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, also at the University of York.

As you probably tell from my picture, I'm a big fan of Norwich City Football Club [4] and my favourite band is the Scottish post-rock group Mogwai [5].
