Steve Koch 15:40, 11 August 2009 (EDT): Since we have an offset problem (don't know why), I re-implemented the Create Offset Array VI. Seems to be working now. There are strange jumps in the y-signal, especially as the sum is swept. This doesn't make much sense to me. See Create Offset Array file 37

Data file 39 is going from max laser power down to zero at the beginning of the create offset array. You can see a rather slow decay of sum, which I'm guessing is due to the power modulator response, not the detector. It takes over 100 ms, I'd say.

Data file 40 I'll do create offset array at various speeds.

  • This is a good file. I believe it shows that the offset is not very time dependent (good) and the x signal also seems very linear (very good). This probably means that I could fit the offset and replace the array with a smooth function, and not worry about the offset subtraction introducing noise.
  • The y signal is much crazier than the x signal
  • I need an ND filter to reduce the sum signal intensity a bit more. Maybe an ND 0.3 is somewhere?
