Gold Nanoparticles (D2O) Preparation 1mL of D2O was first added into a test tube containing a sample of dried HAuCl4. The test tube was then shaken to completely dissolve the mixture. Next, 0.1mL of 1M NaOH in D2O, 0.0008grams of arginine, and 0.9mL of D2O were added into the test tube, and shaken to completely dissolve the mixture. The test tube was then covered with foil.
