I work in the Soultanas Lab at the University of Nottingham. I have been using OpenWetWare for years as a great reference, and I've joined, because I want to give the Notebook a try.

Research interests

I have been studying DNA replication for a bit over 7 years, and recently I have turned my attention away from the similarities between the DNA replication machinery between unrelated organisms, and toward the differences, specifically differences in the machinery between supposedly related organisms. To this end, I am using a combination of biophysical, structural, and bioinformatic methods to understand the functional consequences of the differences between the DNA replication machinery in B. subtilis and E. coli.
