Filter, wash & dry clay samples
Use Au/TiO2 to selectively oxidize an alcohol
-Didn't have enough of AuNP that procedures require (0.2 g) so adjusted the amount added of glycerol, methanol, and NaOH 1) Placed 0.15 g AuNP in 100 rbf, added 0.75 g Glycerol, 21.75 mL methanol, and 0.5625 g NaOH 2)Fill a balloon with ~500 mL O2 by reacting 1/2 teaspoon of yeast with 10 mL 3% H2O2 in a flask with holed stopper 3) Placed balloon on 100 mL rbf to introduce O2 into the reaction 4) Reacted for 2 hours and then removed O2 balloon & centrifuge to separate & recover Au/TiO2
