ObjectiveToday and tomorrow we will be determining the fluorescence of MBP as a function of concentration. To do this, you will need to be able to know the concentration of MBP based on its absorbance spectrum. So, if you still don't have that figured out properly from our Bradford reagent lab, you will need to get this figured out during the lab time this week. Also, you will need to figure out the sensitivity of our new fluorescence instrument. That is, at what intensity does the fluorescence intensity not vary linearly with concentration. To determine this, you will need to make standard solutions of Ru(bpy)(phen) in acetonitrile. Note: To get an accurate determination of fluorescence intensity, you don't measure just the intensity at the emission peak. You measure the integrated intensity of the entire emission. This will be an excel-heavy lab. Description
