Javier was born in Stuttgart in November 1963. He received the Licenciado degree in Theoretical Physics from the Universitat de València (UV), Valencia, Spain in 1987, and the Ph.D. degree in Physics from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV), Valencia, Spain, in 1993.
Since his incorporation to the UPV in 1988 he carried on his research work within different groups, mainly the Internal Combustion Engines Department, the Applied Physics Department and the Applied Thermodynamics Department. He is currently Full Professor in the Applied Physics Department at UPV and leads the Energy Efficiency in Buildings Division within the Institute for Energy Engineering at UPV.
His research interests include the area of heat and mass transfer, refrigeration and heat pumps, focused both on basic understanding and engineering applications, the area of laser and nonlinear optics and the application of optical devices to develop new measurement techniques for fluid dynamic applications.
