Open Positions

There are currently several open positions available in the laboratory. We employ strong multidisciplinary approaches, integrating the fields of engineering, physics, cellular and molecular biology, and physiology. Opportunities exist for (post) graduate students and medical students to work in this exciting area of biomedical optics, and welcome to join our dynamic and diverse research team.

if you are interested in any of the following opportunities, please email me a CV and a statement of why you would like to do research in my lab.(한국어도 가능)

  • Postdoctoral training (1 position):
The project requires a motivated, independent researcher to carry out multiple projects in the BiO-scopy lab. The potential candidates are expected to have expertise in one or more of the following areas: optical imaging system design and construction, biomedical instrumentation, or molecular biology or physiology.
  • Graduate training (several positions):
I take this the most enjoyable and rewarding aspect of being in academic world. We are seeking a number of graduate students who are self-motivated and enthusiastic to pursue their thesis research. Every student is different and I should adjust my guiding style depending on her/his background and level of independency.
  • Undergraduate opportunities:
Undergraduate-level research positions are available to assist with the research projects being conducted in the lab. I always welcome dedicated and diligent volunteers, and if performance is satisfactory , she/he can be hired as a paid assistant.

Research interests

My laboratory is driven to solve current outstanding problems in biomedicine such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. The visualization of disease progression and therapeutic monitoring of small animal models is critical for developing therapeutic strategy in clinical medicine. Towards this goal, we establish innovative in vivo optical imaging platforms and methodology by creating functional super-resolution imaging technologies spanning molecular, cellular, tissue-organ, and whole-body scales. Our approach will provide insights into basic biology and translational medicine.
