Objective
To try to control the aggregation process of AuNP/BSA.
Description
- Make 4 solutions of AuNP:
- Solutions 1 and 2 (Au/BSA mole ratio = 70)
- Combine 1 mL of 2.9 mM HAuCl4 and 2.41 mL of 0.0172 mM BSA in a test tube.
- Dilute to 9 mL with water.
- Place in oven at 70°C.
- Solutions 3 and 4 (Au/BSA mole ratio = 166)
- Combine 1 mL of 2.9 mM HAuCl4 and 1.02 mL of 0.0172 mM BSA in a test tube.
- Dilute to 9 mL with water.
- Place in oven at 70°C.
- Leave solutions 1 and 3 in oven for 3.5 hr.
- Remove solutions 2 and 4 for 10 min every 30 min for 3.5 hr.
Data
Solution 1: Au/BSA = 70, left in the oven
Solution 2: Au/BSA = 70, taken out of the oven every 30 minutes
Solution 3: Au/BSA = 166, left in the oven
Solution 4: Au/BSA = 166, taken out of the oven every 30 minutes
Notes
Purple fibers began to form in solutions 3 and 4 after 1 hr. Purple solution began to form in solution 1 after 1.5 hr.
