My research is concerned with the utilization of compost systems to bioremediate soils contaminated with biofluids, such as biodiesel and bio-hydraulic fluids. Various in-vessel composting systems have been used (bench scale, as well as lab scale). Currently we are conducting a field test at Penn State's compost facility to determine how effective a turned-windrow compost system is in bioremediating soil contaminated with bio-hydraulic fluid as well as B20 blended biodiesel.
