MG Adsorption

  • Centrifuge and filter solutions
  • UV/VIS spectra (see dropbox)
  • Some 80ppm & 200ppm required dilutions for MG absorbance below 1 (5x & 20x)
  • Undiluted used to obtain absorbance related to phenyl rings
  • HxPh3P in solution

HxPh3P leaching

Is HxPh3P presence due to ion exchange or excess that is leached off during equilibrium? If excess, phenyl ring present in HPLC soak and solution should test positive for Br- anions Experiment

  • 10 mg Ph3P-MT in 10 mL HPLC water
  • equilibrate for 3 days
