- Separation and purification of extract of Radix Salvia Miltiorrhiza using resins
- Applied Fick’s second law for unsteady state diffusion to set up a improved diffusion model for extraction process of Radix Salvia Miltiorrhiza and developed Matlab subroutine to evaluate the effective diffusion coefficients
- Applied Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to optimize extraction efficiency with Central Composite Design (CCD) using Design Expert 7.0
- Studied the separation and identification of polyphenolics using HPLC/ESI-MSn as well as accurately determined the their contents respectively in Radix Salvia Miltiorrhiza extract

- Studied the effects of 16 variables on beta-mannanase production from Bacillus licheniformis TJ-101 and optimized the whole process
- Developed three nonlinear kinetic models for cell growth, enzyme synthesis and the total sugar utilization
