October 11, 2017 The main task today is to prepare Au/Zn core-shell NP. We are using the solutions that were made on October 10, 2017. Please refer to the notebook on October 10,2017. Today we are making 4 solutions and are looking at whether nano particles formed or not. Solutions made today are marked by numbers below. 1: The first solution consists of 1 mL AuNP consisting of Histidine and Ammonium Hydroxide (made on October 10, 2017). 1 ml of Histidine, Ammonium Hydroxide and Zinc Acetate are added. 6 ml of DI water is added. 2: The next solution consists of 1 ml AuNP with Histidine and NaOH along with 1 ml of Histidine, NaOH, Zinc Acetate and 6 ml of water. 3: The next solution consists of 1 ml AuNP with Cysteine and Ammonium Hydroxide along with 1 ml of Cysteine, Ammonium Hydroxide, Zinc Acetate and 6 ml of water. 4: The next solution consists of 1 ml AuNP with Cysteine and NaOH along with 1 ml of Cysteine, NaOH, Zinc Acetate and 6 ml of water. The four solutions (in test tube) are placed in oven at 80 C for the next 6 days. There was color change for the solution containing Histidine and NaOH (solution 2) which showed the formation of Nanoparticles.
