Permalink fun

So I am going to try and work with permalinks for my protocol pages. This is my first attempt at using them and I'm not entirely sure how they work. Below is basically my sandbox for understanding how they work.

This is a permalink to my [1] gliding motility protocol that I made last month. My last revision was on Dec. 8, 2009 which was to add the antifade recipe.

I'm going to add a test line at the end of it to see if I get a new permalink. I also want to see if there are differences between the two permalinks on this page. In other words, I want to see if after changing the protocols page, I get a new link.

The new version does have a different permalink, [2].

Indeed there are two different permalinks to the protocols page. The next thing to do is to see if the links will link to the different versions of the page.

  • Results - Yes, permalinks link to specific versions of a page. What's nice is that at the top of the page, there is a "history" section that shows if the page I've linked to has been revised or not. This will allow a user the ability to look at different versions of the same page as time goes by. Very cool.
