Optics

So I've been working on collimating the laser and I finally did it. I can't for the life of me get all the light from the diode. It diverges way too much for me to do it. The next step is to circularize it.

Why is it that laser diode makers know the divergence angles for the diodes they make and yet they insist on not putting collimating optics on them? Oh well.
