Template talk:Sig

yeem 02:57, 25 April 2006 (EDT) I made this template so you don't have to count your apostrophes and tildes when typing out '''~~~~'''. To prepend your comments, use

{{sig|USERNAME}}

where USERNAME is, well, your username. I prefer the four tildes myself, but everyone eles seems to be using this, so why not?

  • Austin 10:41, 24 April 2006 (EDT): I'm not sure this works the way you want it to. Perhaps if you did:
{{subst:sig|USERNAME}}

it may work: Austin 26 December 2024 14:25 (UTC). The problem is that if you're including it as a template, it should always show the time of the last time the template was included not the time of the comment. Also, unlike using the tildes, you don't get the time in local time.

If you want an easier way to do it, it is possible to replace or add to the buttons above the edit box using individual javascript (e.g. User:Austin/monobook.js)

Yeah, this isn't going to work, even with Template:T1. I'll just go sneakily change the template so I don't screw up the formatting on the pages I've already signed. yeem 13:30, 24 April 2006 (EDT)
