  • I think using -1 for ccdB is a terrible idea. I don't see any reason why ccdB should be treated specially. I've gotten confused when looking at tubes, not knowing whether they were labeled before or after this nomenclature, with plasmids of the form pSBxyz-1 and not knowing if it has ccdB in it or if it's colony 1. It seems much clearer to just use -ccdB.

      • I also dislike the -1 convention. But I would suggest giving ccdB a part number in the database rather than using -ccdB. --Reshma 04:28, 22 Aug 2005 (EDT)
  • Update The ccd operon in each of the vectors has been assigned a part number of BBa_P1010. So in the future, all vectors should be labeled as pSB1AC3-P1010 rather than pSB1AC3-1. -- RS
