What is GYT?
- This may be a great protocol, but what on earth is GYT? tk 14:00, 19 February 2008 (EST)
- GYT stands for Glycerol, Yeast extract, Tryptone *Koray 08:51, 29 November 2010 (EST):
• 10%(v/v) glycerol • 0.125% (w/v) yeast extract • 0.25% (w/v) tryptone
last sections is unclear
The last section is somehow unclear to me. There are two desired cells concentrations mentioned
1. "The desired concentration is 2.5 \times 10^{11} cells per mL, giving 1\times 10^{10} cells per 40 μL" and then there is the instruction to 2. "Dilute the cell suspension to a concentration of 2 x 10^10 to 3 x 10^10 cells/ml"
So what should be the desired end concentration for the cells. Or is the second concentration just for testing the arching? Thanks for any help.
