Our Mission
The Johns Hopkins Translational Tissue Engineering Center, TTEC, was founded in 2010 as a joint venture between the Wilmer Eye Institute and the Department of Biomedical Engineering to establish a focus in research, education, and industrial development in the field of regenerative medicine. Building on the excellence of Hopkins clinical and engineering environments, the mission of TTEC is to educate and train tomorrow's leaders in regenerative medicine and accelerate delivery of regenerative medicine technologies to patients. Research programs in TTEC are studying fundamental materials science, engineering, and biology along with a spectrum of enabling technologies for advancing regenerative medicine translation in nearly every clinical field.
