Why do babies kick? The Developmental Biomechanics Lab is exploring this question from the point of view in terms of how movement in the womb fetal movements affects formation and development of the bones and joints. Mechanical forces , and how fetal movements are important for normal function indicative of adult bones and joints, the health and we are investigating if mechanical forces are also important for prenatal skeletal developmentof the unborn baby.
