| Professor Hao Sun is currently an assistant professor and a bioinformatics specialist in the Department of Chemical Pathology. He received his Ph.D. in the field of Environmental Chemistry from Nanjing University, China in 1998 and a M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Akron, USA in 2002. Before he joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009, he worked as a Co-Director of the Bioinformatics Core Facility in Wistar Institute at Philadelphia, USA during 2008 to 2009 and as a Research Scientist/Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Virology, Immunology and Medical Genetics, College of Medicine and Public Health, at the Ohio State University, USA from 2001 to 2008. | | Professor Sun's Lab are focusing on |
| | (i) understanding the fundamental aspects of transcriptional regulation of both coding and noncoding genes; |
| | (ii) developing of new computational algorithms and tools for identifying novel biomarkers, particularly for non-invasive prenatal diagnosis using high-throughput DNA sequencing. |
