===Mouse Antibody Production (MAP) Testing===
MAP testing determines if hybridoma lines, tissue samples, or other materials of mouse origin are virus free. For this test, material is injected into naive, serologically negative mice twice, then mice are allowed time to seroconvert to any potential viral agent. Three weeks after the initial exposure, serum samples are collected and analyzed by indirect ELISA; any suspect positive samples are retested by other testing procedures to confirm the result.
Mouse Antibody Production (MAP) testing requires about 25 x 106 cells. Mice are inoculated by the intraperitoneal and intranasal routes.  The mice are examined once a day for 28 days for signs of disease or mortality. Twenty-eight days after inoculation, the test animals and the control animals are bled and assayed by ELISA for viral agents that include:
* MHV, Polyoma, Sendai, MVM, Parvovirus NS-1, PVM, LCM, Hantaan, REO 3, GDVII (TMEV), K Virus, MCMV, Ectromelia, EDIM (Rotavirus) , MPV, LDEV, MTV, MAD1, (M. Pulmonis [culture]/serology), MAD 2, ECUN, MNV
