- Ghaemmaghami et al. (2003 PMID 14562106) measured 259/cell by quantitative western of entire proteome.
- Thomson et al. (In preparation) measure 4212 molecules/cell by quantitative western blot.
Because Thomson et al. used purified Ste20 as a protein standard, and accounted for more sources of error than Ghaemmaghami et al., we use the 4212 molecules/cell measured by Thomson et al.
