- Ghaemmaghami et al. (2003 PMID 14562106) measured 5980/cell by quantitative western of entire proteome.
- Hao et al. (2003 PMID 12968019) measured ~2000/cell by quantitative western.
Hao et al. used purified Sst2 as a protein standard for their Western blots, which Ghaemmaghami et al. did not. Thus, we use the abundance of 2000 molecules/cell measured by Hao et al.
