NB : Don't forget to write on the bottle, 'igem, date, which medium (eg. LB), initials'

LB, aka Luria Bertani

Use LB powder from BD (Difco LB Broth, Miller)

Concentration : 25g/L

• In a Beaker
  • 50g into 2L of dH₂O
  • or 25 g into 1L, and so on.
• Solubilize by stirring
• Poor in a bottle, which is twice the volume of what you add into it (eg. 500mL of LB into a bottle of 1L)
• Autoclave, 121°C, 20' (prog. 4)
• have fun

LBA, aka Luria Bertani Agar

Use LB powder from BD (Difco LB Agar, Miller)

NB : cannot be solubilize at room temperature, it will be solubilize after autoclaving

Concentration : 40g/L

• In a 1L Bottle : 20g LBA + 500mL dH₂O
• Autoclave, 121°C, 20' (prog. 4)
• have fun
