==Metal detection and bioremediation by Arabipdosis thaliana. ==.

Metal contamination due to daily human activities has been an environmental problem that needs to find better and faster ways to detect and remediate. For this reason this year our iGem project has focused on solving this problem, centering on metal contamination found at our own community. As an approach to solve mercury contamination in rural areas close to mercury mines found in Queretaro México, we have designed a modular genetic system ready to be incorporated to Arabidopsis thaliana, as a possible, practical and environmentally friendly solution for the problem of heavy metal contamination.
