Data Re-Use Taxonomy
- Nic Weber 17:18, 3 November 2010 (EDT): My initial idea started from this passage in Ann Zimmermans publication on Data Sharing Standardizations, "...In most cases, however, ecologists gathered single data points from multiple sources such as journal articles, reports, computerized databases, institutional records, and people, and aggre- gated them to form a new data set." p 8.
Zimmerman, A S. (2008). Science, Technology & Human Values, 33(5), 631-652. doi: 10.1177/0162243907306704.
My thought is to conceptualize what it means to reuse data at a very high level and attempt to classify those activities into a taxonomic structure. This would be a helpful framework to evaluate scholarly material from this point forward.
