Berglund: Pizza Sauce

Fresh Homemade Pizza Sauce

I was inspired by this website: http://www.varasanos.com/PizzaRecipe.htm

But, I made major modifications because I don't have a lot of free time.

Take:
1 tbsp of Amore tomato paste
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano

And microwave for 1 minute. The oil will draw out the flavors of these items and intensify them.
Mix.

Add:
2 cups of S&W crushed tomatoes (I like this brand best, I seem to remember Hunt's crushed tomatoes are good, too)
Mix.

Spread onto your pizza dough. Add cheese (we used mozarella and cheddar) and pepperoni.

Cook in the oven and enjoy!
