Beginner Technique Gotchas

This is a page to collect beginner molecular biology technique gotchas--important things to know that mentors may often forget to teach their mentees.

• Shortwave UV radiation (254, 302, or 312nm) can damage DNA after only seconds of exposure. Make sure you're using 365nm light when visualizing gels to be purified.
